Generously apply shaving cream or oil to your face. Hold the razor with the handle open away from you. Use your free hand to stretch your facial skin, creating as straight a surface as possible. Position the razor at an angle of about 30° and gently scrape your beard. Start by shaving with the grain, then across it, and finally against the grain.

During shaving, avoid rinsing the blade with running water. It's much better to use a pre-prepared lint-free towel, as moisture can damage the blade and make the razor harder to glide. After shaving, ensure the razor dries thoroughly. Use a strop for straightening and sharpening the blade.
