Montale Black Aoud Intense Eau de Parfum

The longevity is very good. You can clearly hear the notes of wood, rose, citrus, and leather. It's a great find for fans of heavy artillery. The scent is complex and suitable for any time of the year. I never smell it on myself, but I often receive compliments.

If this fragrance is for women, then women must have steel... um... nerves)))) There is a lot of rose in the opening, it's strange that it's only marketed as woody, salty and tart woody notes are only present in the drydown. It would be cool if they added more rose! Hopefully, it will mellow out and give a chance to other components. The oud is loud and medicinal, but the rose overpowers it.
Overall, for an untrained nose, it could be shocking and disastrous) and it's probably better suited for colder times. In hot weather, wearing it might lead to one's own demise and take others down with them!)

This fragrance is extremely overpowering. When I first opened the package, I was delighted by its unusual and distinctive scent. However, after just one spray, it became clear that it doesn't suit men at all. The rose note is suffocating, and it lingers on the skin for two days without a doubt. It will probably stay on clothing for a month. I am disappointed :-(

The fragrance is luxurious! Expensive and rich, truly niche. However, the box arrived open and very battered. If this is a discounted item, please indicate it immediately. Minus points for the packaging.

My first Montale completely shattered my understanding of perfumery. It started with a "hospital" accord, with all the components such as bandages, iodine, and castor oil. However, after sniffing it properly, I came to the conclusion that it was the same pharmacy patchouli (see Patchouli Magique by "Novaya Zarya"), spiced with woody notes and oud, presumably. This oud gives it softness and tames some sharpness. It plays out for about half an hour, then rose comes in with the same oud, which colors it with languor and depth. The base is a soft enveloping musk with hints of oud. I don't feel the promised mandarin. It's all very beautiful, enchanting, and mysterious, just like it is in Arabic.

On the skin, it lasts a couple of hours, there is a trail, but not a "tail". On clothes, it lasts for days. Four days have passed, and on my sweater (made of natural wool), the distinct musky base still lingers.

It is suitable for both women and men.

For noses unprepared for Montale, it is a must-try.

I love Pierre Montale's work, but even the same perfume in different bottles can be quite different. I already have my third full-sized bottle of Black Aoud Intense, and one of them is absolutely luxurious with its patchouli-oud rich sound. The other two, including my latest purchase with MakeUP, exude oriental sweetness, rose water, and Turkish delight, with no hint of oud resin, and there is no mention of patchouli at all. I once bought samples and they had a dry, slightly bitter vetiver scent, so it's also difficult to rely on sample perfumes. However, I actually like that the fragrance, although under the same name, has such different contents in these eye-catching metallic bottles.

The scent of oud is persistent, to my nose it smells like a combination of medical balm and frankincense. It gave me a headache, but my husband liked it. I didn't detect any pink or musky notes, despite buying it based on reviews. If applied to the wrist and inhaled, it has a pleasant aroma, but if worn as a trail, it makes me want to run away. I recommend testing it before purchasing as perfume is a highly individual choice. This is my fourth Montale fragrance and I can't imagine it on a woman, but it works for men! There is no doubt about the originality of the product.

I did not find any rahat lokum, light sweetness, or cleanliness in this product. However, I really enjoy its strong scent. But before purchasing, I tested it in the store.
