Moisten the sponge under running water until it expands. Thoroughly squeeze out the excess water and start applying with stamping motions. Remember to wash the sponge after each use, then wring it out and let it dry. Before the first use, the sponge should be washed.
The sponge is very firm. It does not expand much when in contact with water, almost no difference from its dry state. Applying foundation with it requires more time and effort to achieve an even and seamless finish. It also consumes more foundation compared to my previous sponge, which was soft and doubled in size when wet.
