For hundreds of years, the Château de Versailles with its opulent luxury and overwhelming splendour has inspired a lot of artists and poets to create some of the world's best masterpieces. It has also inspired Parfums de Marly, whose history dates back to the 18th century, to release Layton Eau de Parfum, which can be righteously called a true a masterpiece of olfactory art. It captures the essence of freshness, dynamism and masculine elegance, which are subtly embodied by the Château de Versailles, a symbol of genuine luxury and power.
The olfactory pyramid of Parfums de Marly Layton:
Top notes open with a powerful burst of tangerine, lavender, and green apple.
Heart notes are marked by savoury accords of geranium, jasmine and violet.
Base notes are permeated by a daring blend of vanilla, guaiac wood, cardamom, violet, pepper, and sandalwood, leaving a mesmerizing trail in their wake.
A great option for everyday wear during winter, this fragrance starts off with a high-quality green apple scent that then transitions into a vanilla note. The vanilla is not overly sweet, but rather has a sophisticated and gentlemanly quality to it. The longevity is strong, and while I can't comment on the sillage, it is definitely not weak.
