I will add to my comment. Whether the scent has settled or my attitude towards it has changed, I'm not sure. But now, instead of frankincense, a warm sandalwood-vanilla comes forward, and it lasts until the evening. It is long-lasting and expensive, and I believe it is suitable for everyday wear, as long as you don't overapply it.

This is Shalimar. And that says it all. I have adored it for the past 30 years. It's a fairytale by Guerlain.

I bought this product without testing it, relying on reviews and thinking that if I like retro scents like Chanel N5 and Krasnaya Moskva, then I should also like this legendary scent. However, it turned out to be a completely different fragrance. The initial notes, which everyone describes as rubber, seemed more like pine (cedar) to me and didn't scare me at all. It got worse afterwards - a constant smell of incense and sandalwood in the base and final notes, I can constantly smell it. I only took away one star because of the leaking sprayer and its big spray, it's like a hose. I will try to wear it and befriend it, as these initial impressions need to be confirmed and it needs to be given a chance.

I have already ordered 2 bottles in this format. It's great - the opportunity to familiarize yourself with cult fragrances from Guerlain at a budget-friendly price. The only thing is, I'm in love specifically with the opening of this luxurious scent. Yes, yes, exactly with these citrus tires, railway tracks, and so on! Later on, it is also beautiful, but it becomes quiet and modest on my nose. That's why I have to regularly replenish it to inhale that mechanical scent of the top notes!

This fragrance is a Legend and oh, how wonderful it was when it was only available to a few, not just anyone. I have a collection of Shalimars from 25 years ago, from the 20th century to the present day. The amazingly enchanting Orient is captured in the embrace of a beautiful bottle. Yes, now it sounds more restrained, not as sweet, but Shalimar is still as luxurious as ever, time has no power over it.
