The ocean storm paint does not match the stated color and leaves stains on a clean canvas. I do not recommend this paint. All proportions were followed, 1:1 with Wella developer.
I bought the pink dye, level 9, expecting a snow-white hair color, but it turned out to be more like a rolled peach shade. It's alright, but I will try something else. For example, I heard that Welka has tubes of colored balm.
I tried the Amethyst hair dye. The color is very nice, with a light lavender shade. It takes a long time to fade, but 30 ml was enough for short hair. I mixed it with a 1.9% developer. My hair is still healthy and not dried out. It effectively neutralized the yellow pigment. I will definitely experiment with other shades. I highly recommend it.
Excellent colors, the paint applies evenly and the color is exactly like in the photo, on a properly prepared base. To avoid gaps, don't hesitate to use more paint, because one tube for shoulder-length hair (like the girl in the comment below) is not enough, unless it's a 1:1 ratio. Of course, it's preferable to mix it with the "native" developer to achieve the desired result, not something random. It's chemistry. I use a 1.9% emulsion on a clean 10.
I tried Pink Dream and Smokey Amethyst (such a beautiful shade, beige-purple, very delicate, looks stunning on a clean level 10. It won't work on level 8 or lower). These are pastel shades, so they require a clean bleached base, the lighter, the better. And if you're not willing to lighten your hair to level 10, then it's not the fault of the dye. Beauty requires sacrifices.
On a clean, lightened base, the paint goes on superbly. It's the best I've found so far!
I tried Dream Pink on my dyed hair, which is in the color 8.1. I can't say that the shade applied evenly, but there were no harsh gaps either. I mixed it with a 2.7% developer. The entire tube of dye was used on hair slightly below shoulder length. I am attaching a photo.
I have been using this paint for over 2 years. The pastel pink color is very beautiful and washes out nicely, leaving a pink shade. The blue color looks like diluted ink and washes out completely. For some reason, the purple color does not work for me at all, no matter what I try (I bought it from different stores and increased the exposure time). The paint washes out quite quickly, especially for me (I wash my hair every day), but you don't need to clean it if you decide to change the color or get tired of the brightness. I create a combination of blue+pink, which resembles the morning sky.
I tried this paint for the first time and I am thrilled with it. It is best to consult with a professional artist/colorist to understand the logic of coloring. The paint is excellent.
I purchased the shade Ocean Storm. My hair, which was dyed ash blonde, turned into a stunning gray-blue color with a silver tint. I received many compliments on my new color.
However, the color of my regrowth did not change. I will have to lighten the roots additionally and then tone them.
One downside is that the dye washes out quickly, and I don't want to dye my hair frequently. I will look for a toning balm to maintain the shade until the next coloring.
But overall, I am very satisfied with the tone.
I used it in combination with a 1.9% developer, as recommended by the manufacturer.
Before painting, I tested the paint (Smoky Amethyst) on separate strands that were previously lightened. In the photo, the top strand is the lightest, the middle one is with an oxidizer from Garnier (the packaging does not indicate the percentage, but information from forums suggests it is either 6% or 9%), and the bottom strand is with an oxidizer from Wella, 4%. I left it on for 40 minutes since the recommended 20 minutes did not give any effect. Perhaps on lighter hair, the result will be better, but I am reluctant to further bleach my hair for a questionable effect.
The Jaded Mint product, designed for lightened hair, barely provided any color.
