Perfumed water Byredo Palermo, a creation of the Swedish brand Byredo, is named after the Italian town of Palermo. Palermo is an ancient city that was founded by the Phoenicians and later came under the jurisdiction of the Roman Empire. It seems the city's astonishing beauty, filled with monumental memories of its grand past, inspired the Swedes to create this remarkable fragrance.
Given the historical features of Palermo, it's not surprising that one finds distinct Greco-Roman chypre motifs within the fragrance's composition. The city is so rife with semi-ruined monuments from various cultures and historical eras, that all these nuances are bound to manifest in the perfume named after this great city. The melody of this product is set by noble notes of green cardamom and Phoenician frankincense, diluted with the sweet bitterness of lemon liqueur - limoncello.
Ancient, almost Arabic chords of patchouli leaf, agarwood (oud), and papyrus, create a sense of grandeur in the soul and urge to unravel all the secrets of this unique perfume.
To say that I was shocked when I purchased (fortunately) only a 2ml sample would be an understatement, and it's not about the scent itself (which, by the way, is wonderful), but about the fact that it completely disappears within 30 minutes of application. Honestly, I wouldn't even buy it for 500 UAH. The perfume's scent may or may not be to your liking, but at this price, it should be intense and long-lasting for at least a few hours, not to mention the trail it leaves behind. With the same amount of money, you could easily buy ten perfumes from Avon (there are some very decent options) and douse yourself in them. Palermo by Byredo has completely turned me off from trying any other perfumes from this brand, as they say. I didn't buy the sample at a makeup store.
Super aroma. It's like summer, fields, a variety of grasses, and sun-warmed fruits. It's not overly sweet or overpowering. It's very pleasant and doesn't feel heavy in the heat. I don't agree with the previous review, there's not a hint of roses.
