Semi-permanent hair dyes are the perfect choice for those who have decided to adjust or change their hair color for the first time. These are simple, harmless, ready-to-use products that gradually wash out with shampoo and completely disappear after 6 to 12 washes. This type of dye does not contain ammonia and hydrogen peroxide - substances that are often found in hair dyes.
Directions is a temporary hair dye by La Riche with a creamy texture, odorless, with no need to mix components - it is completely ready for use, safe for hair, and lasts well from 2 to 4 weeks. The product washes out gradually; it will wash out faster on damaged, brittle, porous hair.
This semi-permanent hair dye emphasizes and enhances the natural color, making it much more vibrant and brighter without lightening the hair, and also has a conditioning effect.
ATTENTION! To achieve the most vivid color, hair must be pre-lightened to the maximum, on natural light hair the dye may only give a subtle tint, and dyeing unbleached black hair will not yield any results. The use of balms and conditioners interferes with the dye fixing, resulting in a less vibrant color. To preserve the color longer, add a small amount of dye to your shampoo, the use of anti-dandruff shampoos, medicinal shampoos, etc., is not recommended.
1. Before dyeing, wash your hair with a pH-balanced shampoo, towel dry. It is not recommended to use balms, rinses, hair lotions a day before dyeing.
2. Transfer the necessary amount of dye into a plastic container. For short hair, half the volume is sufficient, for long hair, the entire contents of the jar may be needed.
3. When dyeing, use protective gloves (preferably those that fit snugly to your hands, not the usual loose gloves that often come with the dyes). To avoid dyeing the skin of your face and ears, grease them with petroleum jelly or baby oil, but make sure it does not get on the hair, otherwise, the dye will not take properly. For a more even application of dye, it is advisable to use a special brush.
4. Apply the dye to the hair at a distance of 3-4 cm from the scalp and distribute evenly to the ends. Start dyeing from the back of the head, making sure the hair is evenly saturated with the dye.
5. After application, thoroughly comb your hair until the dye foams, indicating that the hair has fully absorbed the dye. Lighter shades may require longer combing.
6. Leave the dye on the hair for 30-60 minutes or longer, depending on the desired intensity of color. The dyes do not contain ammonia, so they do not damage the hair! Note that lighter shades require more exposure time. Using a climazon will reduce the processing time to 15-30 minutes and may lead to a brighter and more lasting color.
7. Rinse your hair under running water, avoiding getting strands on your face and in your eyes, for better color fixation rinse your hair with a vinegar solution (mix equal parts of white vinegar and water, apply to your hair and comb it through, leave the mixture on your hair for 1-2 minutes, then rinse under running water).
8. Dry your hair.-
Apply the dye using a hair coloring brush, starting 1-1.5 cm away from the scalp and evenly distributing it towards the tips of the strands. Leave the dye on your hair for 15 minutes or more. Then rinse thoroughly.

The only downside of this hair dye is that it tends to fade quickly, typically after 3-4 washes.
We purchased three cans for a complete dye job. It applied easily and when washed off, the water was clear. The color was very vibrant. However, after three days, the color simply washed out. It is not very visible in the photos, but the majority of the hair was left with a bleached color. Very disappointed!!!
I couldn't find any reviews for the Ebony shade, so I will provide photos before and after using this dye (apologies for the background and possibly poor angle).
To be honest, I am not satisfied with the result. My intention was to try a short-lasting black color because I was tired of vibrant dyes. However, I ended up with green roots (natural roots and the temple area turned warm) and an uncovered violet hair color. Not a very successful combination, in my opinion.
It's also strange that I ordered two jars, one came with 100ml and the other with 88ml. They are the same shade, just different packaging. I am grateful for the extra grams of makeup, though.
Be prepared for this dye to stain your entire bathroom. The tub will turn both blue and eggplant-colored. It's very strange that it washes out with just water, leaving an eggplant color, but when you use shampoo, it becomes a saturated blue. I understood that the dye would have a undertone, but it was an interesting experiment.
I doubt that it will even look good on blondes.
I chose the Neon Blue color. The color is amazing, everything looks bright and beautiful. However, I am so disappointed with how it smudges. It's awful. Everything gets stained in that blue color. After washing my hands, ears, neck, clothes, and nails for the umpteenth time, it's impossible to scratch an itch without getting paint on my hands. No, this is too much.
I have something to compare it with in the same price category. And I can say that this paint is terrible. The pigment does not apply evenly, even on a well-lightened base. I do not recommend it for those who want to dye their entire hair, not just strands.
I tried the Wisteria tone. What can I say? The instructions state that it works better on bleached hair. However, it doesn't mention that it won't work at all on natural hair. Now I look like a leopard, ladies! Ready for the weekend!
I tried it for the first time. The hair was beautifully colored, but there is only one downside - it stains the towel after washing my hair (I have to immediately dry it with a hairdryer). The consumption is economical for me because I have a "hidden coloring" technique, and my hair length is below the shoulders. To achieve the desired result, I left it on my hair for 1 hour. Honestly, after reading negative reviews here, I thought it wouldn't work.
The vermillion red shade has the perfect crimson tone, without any hint of pinkiness or magenta. I constantly purchase it, as it is the best shade of crimson that I personally have tried among many brands.
I really liked the paint overall, I bought the shade Alpine Green and it has its pros and cons.
+ Visually, the jar is very small, but it is economical to use. I only needed 3/4 of the jar for my shoulder-length fluffy hair.
+ It really has no smell.
+ The palette has a wide range of unusual shades.
+ The color is vivid, although for me, this shade is too blue, but still nice.
+ Immediately after dyeing, I had a good salon-like impression.
+ Both the highlighted strands and all of my hair were dyed, just as I wanted, so my dark brown color was covered.
+ It doesn't dry out the hair.
+ The package arrived in good condition.
- In reality, the paint in the jar is dark turquoise, and the result looks more blue than green, especially outside, it is a bright blue. Then it starts to unevenly fade into a more greenish shade. It's bad that after the first wash, there are stains. Now I have warm green and almost blue in different places, even though the base is uniform and clean. I understand that it will probably fade from the unbleached strands after the fourth or fifth wash.
- During the washout, the water is endlessly saturated with color, and when washing the hair afterwards, the bathtub gets heavily stained.
- Fully dried hair heavily stains the pillowcase, and washing it once with detergent doesn't remove the stain. It is summer now, and if I go out with my hair down at 25-27°C, my neck, shoulders, a thin layer on my face, and the neckline of the shirt get stained.
- Considering these drawbacks regarding wearability, the price is quite high (399 UAH, not from the EU). There are no gloves included, and the instructions on the lid are small. It was also inconvenient for me that I needed to find a very narrow brush or that I could use a brush right away if the jar was wider. I would also like an explanation as to why the instructions on the lid say not to use balm/conditioner, even though the dye doesn't dry out the hair. It would have been nice to revive it a little.
I will see how it washes out further. I think I can overcome the pillowcase issue by wearing my hair up and knowing it from the first washes. The fact that the body gets stained will probably pass. If it didn't dye everything at once, I would give it 5 stars. I will probably buy it again, I really liked the comment with the lime yellow-green result a bit below, I want to try the same shade later. I will add to the review later.
I have been using this dye for a long time and I really like it. The color is always vibrant and it lasts on my hair for 2-3 weeks.
I have been using denim blue and mixing it with gray Anthocyanin. The resulting color is a steel shade that looks very nice, not cheap at all. It lasts for a long time and has excellent quality considering its price. The most important thing is to have a well-bleached base without any yellow tones, so that when you wash it out, it turns into a beautiful shade of blue. Therefore, I recommend getting your hair lightened by a professional and then toning it at home by yourself. It's the perfect option.
I tried the Atlantic Blue color and used it for a long time. It faded to a greenish shade. When I ran out of the color for my makeup, I decided to try the Wisterid shade. However, it didn't work at all. It was a waste of money.
I dyed my daughter's strands, and the color took well to her natural brunette hair. We used the Tangarine shade and left it on for an hour.
Girls! This paint is great, but it comes in different variations. It took me a while to get used to it, and oh boy, was I nervous. But I didn't have a choice due to a severe allergy to chemical dye (I used black dye for about 15 years). From my experience, I can say the following: make sure to wash off the masks and conditioners from your hair, as they seem to accumulate. It works well on natural and untreated henna and dye-free hair. Cold, dark shades work better. It washes out quickly for me, so I touch up the color every two weeks. I don't use conditioners or masks. One jar is enough for three applications. I tried coloring my hair with another brand's tonic (not the wild plum color I used a long time ago), but I ended up throwing it away and sticking with this dye.
The shade "Rubine" applied beautifully on unbleached red hair. It lasted for almost a month and washed out evenly. I left it on for 40 minutes.
Unfortunately, the wisteria color did not adhere to my bleached hair at all. However, the turquoise and midnight blue shades were fantastic! They applied well and lasted a long time. From this experience, I conclude that this brand is not suitable for pastel shades, but their saturated colors are great.
Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. My hair was lightened before, but the dye did not take at all. The color was supposed to be wisteria.
I purchased this hair dye because it had many reviews. Before dyeing, I bleached my hair. I left the dye on for an hour, and even longer. However, the dye did not take at all. I do not recommend it.
The color is simply chic - exactly what is needed.
The color is bomb.
Great toner! I got Alpine Green. The color is rich (similar to Colorist, but it doesn't even compare - tried it, and it was awful), pleasant to use, and lasts well. What especially pleased me was that after 15 minutes of applying it to my hair, it doesn't stain anything (probably a reaction takes place). I recommend using it with foil - the color is brighter.
I have been using this paint for many years and I really like it. It lasts a long time and applies evenly.
I purchased the shade Lagoon Blue, but the dye did not take well. It felt like it was expired. I couldn't find out the production date or the expiration date. How is that even possible?! Because before this, I bought the Turquoise shade and it applied perfectly to my hair. The consistency of the two dyes is clearly different. This one had a gel-like texture, which was irritating. It's frustrating when they sell products like this.
Review of the YELLOW dye.
On a clean, lightened base, it did NOT adhere! It washed out almost completely. It's somewhat tolerable near the roots, but further down it's just a pale apple, barely yellow. I followed the instructions.
It's not the first time I've used this brand for coloring, but the yellow is a first. It's a shame. The liquid was very poorly pigmented.
BUT perhaps this is a question for the makeup. Missing products from improper storage started seeping through! The scent of spoiled cosmetics, a rancid smell of essential oils, swollen jars.
In every recent order of mine, there have been such items. I have started returning everything with the courier! Check carefully!
Trust in the website is rapidly declining.
I purchased the platinum toner to achieve a white hair effect. I applied it myself to strands that had been lightened multiple times. The color turned out slightly uneven, but it wasn't too noticeable because the top hairs were a beautiful white color and covered the barely noticeable yellowish tint on the back of my head. The color lasts for almost a month, but I use a "Silver" shampoo to prevent any yellowing. My hair feels soft and smooth, pleasant to the touch, after using this dye.
The paint arrived quickly and easily. There are different mail options, so it is very convenient. The color cerise is beautiful, in my opinion, especially when mixed with a balm.
I used Carnation Pink and it lasted for about two months. It faded into a lovely pastel pink and I was very satisfied with the result. However, the jar is quite small and you will need 2-3 jars for a full coloring, depending on the length of your hair.
I purchased Alpine green and I am happy with the outcome)))
I have used several jars of this paint already. I started with flamingo pink, but for some reason, it didn't last very long. Then I switched to carnation, and this one lasted longer. At the end of December, I dyed my hair with Turquoise, Violet, and Carnation Pink - in strands. And you know what? It's still holding up, even though February is almost over! I really don't know how to wash it out. All the advice about using sulfate shampoo and washing my hair with hot water is useless, it doesn't work at all! The turquoise and violet shades are still pastel-like, but you can't see the pink anymore, it washed out.
As for the lasting power, I have a theory that the color doesn't hold well on over-processed hair. That's what happened to me when I first started using the flamingo shade. The pigment itself was vibrant and supposed to last long, but my hair was over-processed at the time, so there was simply no place for the pigment to hold on. That's how it was, somehow.
I regret buying it. It's too small for the price. Durability is low. If you don't have extra money for experiments, I don't recommend it. ;-)
I really liked the hair dye! I bought two colors: atlantic blue and cerise. The pink turned out great on my bleached hair, while the blue was slightly less impressive, just as I expected. I've been using a shampoo for colored hair and so far, after three times, the dye still looks the same. Only the blue shade has become slightly lighter.
Finally, I achieved the desired hair color! I chose the shade Carnation Pink. Lightened hair turns out vibrant, just like the color in the jar. However, after the first wash, the color fades and becomes softer. The only downside is that one jar barely covered my shoulder-length hair of medium thickness. Therefore, it's better to order two right away and be worry-free.
This hair dye is great! It offers a nice range of colors and doesn't damage the hair too much. The only downside is that the color tends to fade after a week.
I bought two shades, cherry and lavender. The first thing I want to point out is that the lavender paint jar was cracked at the bottom, unfortunately, I only noticed it at home as I didn't have time to check it at the delivery point. Therefore, I recommend inspecting it immediately upon delivery.
Now, let's talk about the paint itself. I haven't tried lavender yet. I used the cerise paint according to the instructions, kept it under a plastic wrap and a towel for an hour. The tips of my hair, which were lightened (ombre), turned out to be very bright. I wash my hair every day (using Chi Keratin shampoo and conditioner) and it seems like the color doesn't want to fade easily. In my opinion, the paint consumption is quite economical, unless you're dyeing all of your hair or have long hair. I have a long bob and I dyed approximately up to the middle section.
The paint is exquisite and was applied to lightened ends. I used the Alpine Green color, a magnificent shade.
The shade Lilac is awful, the dye doesn't evenly adhere to the hair, and some areas were not colored at all. I will never buy it again.
Great hair dye, leaves hair shiny and well-groomed.
I tried:
Violet - excellent, rich color, lasts for 2 months or even longer, currently the most long-lasting violet shade.
Neon Blue - fully lives up to its name, depending on the lighting it can appear neon blue or violet. Washes out to a pleasant grayish-blue shade, and then fades to a minty color, rather than the swampy mess that most blue dyes turn into.
Silver - complete disappointment, doesn't take to heavily bleached hair at all, doesn't even leave a subtle tint. This color is a waste of money.
This mask is excellent. The color on the hair lasted for a very long time, much longer than other toners, and it looked more like permanent dye. I chose the Midnight Blue shade, a very beautiful dark blue color. (I had previously bleached and toned my hair) It gradually faded to a lighter blue, but it took a while for it to wash out.
This is a really cool and relatively inexpensive paint. I used the colors Lilac and Alpine Green. The green color, although it doesn't stay in its original form (emerald) for long, has been with me for 2 months now, albeit in different shades. It is easy to use, although it is difficult to remove if it gets on the plumbing. And my hair feels soft after using it, just like after using a hair mask.
Excellent paint. It is applied to lightened hair and surprisingly lasts up to 2 months. It does not stain clothes, towels, or bed sheets. It also repairs hair. It is the most long-lasting out of all the brands I have tried (and I have tried about 20 brands). I use the Violet color. A special thanks to the makeup store for the fast delivery and surprise :)
