Every time they craft a new fragrance, the American company Demeter Fragrance tells a new story that is reflected in the sound of their mono-component, unique scents. Back in the year 2000, inspired by romantic memories, the company's steadfast perfumers, Christopher Brosius and Francis Kurkdjian, decided to weave a tale of first love born on the distant, sandy shores of an unnamed island.
This story resonates in a composition of light fougère and fresh aquatic, subtle, enticing notes, painting barely perceptible patterns on the ocean's smooth surface. Pleasant, gentle, filled with the scent of sea breeze and the cry of seagulls, the fragrance immerses you in a state of daydreaming and deeply hidden romance in a special way. It reveals those tender, carefully guarded strings of the human soul that we so diligently hide to avoid becoming callous and facing disappointment.
In the fragrance, one can detect salty notes of sea water, which, drying under the sun, leaves a salty taste and a blurred white line of salt patterns on the skin. This versatile perfume will accompany you throughout the day, offering solace and bringing a touch of soulfulness into your space.
I didn't like the scent, unfortunately. It reminds me of the fragrance of an air freshener "after rain".
The scent of sun-kissed skin after a dip in the sea is delightful. There's also a floral note, reminiscent of lilacs. The fragrance is very pleasant and perfect for summer. However, its longevity is quite low.
I was very afraid that they wouldn't smell like the sea. But they do. And not with seaweed, but with the exact scent of salty air, the morning sea. It's a moderately fresh aroma that only evokes positive emotions in me.
Overall, I liked the scent. Not on the first try, but on the second. The longevity is really weak, it doesn't remind me of sea air - it's more of a floral-cucumber freshness :) However, the scent is unique and doesn't resemble any other brands, it's pleasantly subtle. I enjoy carrying it in my bag to periodically create a "fresh" mood for myself.
I liked them. Not immediately, at first I left them aside, then decided to try again. Now they are used every day. In general, I have the desire to try a different scent.
