1. Before lighting the candle, check the length of the wick — the optimal length is around 0.5 cm. If the wick is longer, trim it to avoid a smoky and flickering flame. You can use specially designed wick trimmers (which are convenient for deep candles) or regular scissors.

2. When the candle is burning, do not extinguish it until the wax has melted all the way to the edges of the container. This ensures the candle burns evenly, preventing the "tunneling" effect, and allows you to use all the wax, extending the life of the candle.

3. Burning the candle for too long can cause the wick to become too long, which may lead to some soot. It's best to extinguish the candle, wait for the wax to cool slightly, trim the wick, and then relight it.

4. To extinguish the candle, it's best to use a candle snuffer. Otherwise, an improperly extinguished wick (such as when blowing out the flame) can produce a lot more smoke.
