Apply the polygel to the prepared nail, which should be buffed, degreased, and coated with a non-acid primer and base coat. Unlike gel, polygel does not self-level. Instead, use a spatula to place a small ball of polygel onto the nail, and then shape it using a flat synthetic or natural brush. Dip the brush in a cleanser to prevent sticking. Cure the polygel under a UV lamp for 2 minutes or an LED lamp for 30-40 seconds. After minimal filing (proper technique can often eliminate the need for this step), apply a top coat to the shaped artificial nail. To remove the polygel, it must be filed off as it does not dissolve.
