Wash your hands thoroughly. To remove the outer protective cover, hold the tampon with clean hands and twist the protective cover in the directions indicated by the arrows. Holding the edge of the tampon with your thumb and middle finger, place your index finger into the indentation at the end of the tampon. Remove the upper part of the cellophane packaging. Get into a comfortable position, relax, and carefully insert the tampon into the vagina using your free hand, gently pressing the tampon with your index finger. Insert the tampon deep into the vagina, directing it upwards and backwards (towards your lower back). The tampon should settle into the correct position. You should not feel any discomfort from the inserted tampon, and the string should remain outside. After inserting the tampon, wash your hands. To remove the tampon, gently pull the string. You may feel slight resistance. This is natural, as the tampon has slightly expanded.
