I didn't like Mitsuko... I don't taste any sweetness, any floral notes... It's rather sharp, prickly. Maybe I should let it settle and maybe I'll like it later. I bought it based on reviews and description. No complaints about the store.
This is truly a masterpiece. It's no wonder it has been sold for 101 years. I'm very happy that despite the reforms due to the ban on certain components, which unfortunately led to the fact that many classic scents will not return to us in their original form or their longevity will be affected, thanks to Thierry Wasser, the beauty of Mitsouko has remained almost the same as when Jacques Guerlain created it in 1919. Upon first spray, a very sharp note hit my nose and the scent itself seemed very bitter and even a bit repellent on the skin. Except for one piercing and pungent note, I didn't feel anything else. The next day, I decided to apply the fragrance again and miraculously, it had changed beyond recognition. Perhaps after removing the alcohol stopper, the scent restructured itself and began to reveal all its beauty and power. Now it starts with a sharpness and mossiness, with a good dose of bergamot, but after an hour, the characteristic Guerlain base remains, which exudes Jacques Guerlain's signature. It's like a red thread that connects all three of his legendary fragrances: Shalimar, L'Heure Bleue, and Mitsouko. On me, Mitsouko smells like candied citrus fruits and mandarins mixed with spices. The fragrance is complex, ambiguous, and lives its own life. Like a real woman, it can be bitchy and unbearably piercing with notes of bergamot and vetiver, or it can be tender and affectionate, gifting the scent of dried fruits with spices. Its longevity is very good, lasting up to 8 hours on the skin and almost a day on clothes. It's worth starting with a sample or a small version to understand if the fragrance suits you or not. Chypres can be worn in spring or autumn, as that's when they fully blossom. In winter, the cold can make the fragrance flat. Winter is the perfect time for oriental and gourmand scents. In summer, it can become suffocating for you and those around you. It's suitable for confident women who love and appreciate the classics of the Guerlain perfume house. Chypre lovers will appreciate this fragrance. Perfumes like Mitsouko can distinguish their wearer from the crowd with their individuality and self-sufficiency. The perfume itself is original and comes in a bottle made of high-quality glass. The plastic lid is well-made and fits tightly. The spray works properly and is adorned with the brand logo of the perfume house. Unfortunately, the box was crushed, which is probably why it was discounted, but that doesn't matter to me. What matters is the fragrance itself and the very prompt delivery. I will continue to order products as all the perfumes are 100% original.
And I also want to revive this beauty! I have three legendary Guerlain perfumes in my collection, the first one was Shalimar in EDT, then L'Heure Bleue EDT, and the last one I purchased was this perfume (although in a refill form, but that's not the point).
The scent is divine! The longevity is very decent! It's magnificent, loved by me, especially in the top notes. Shalimar fades away after 30 minutes, I can't smell it anymore... maybe there is some base left, but my nose doesn't react to it. As for Mitsouko, it's sharp and a bit harsh in the beginning, but it gives me peaches with cinnamon all day long! And lilac... it's a very beautiful perfume, very long-lasting, no prickly vintage vibes, it has an expensive and deep sound. Maybe it's a matter of perception, maybe it's the chemistry of the skin, but I didn't find in this beautiful fragrance the horrors that 50% of various forum users write about it. The conclusion is - if you have doubts, then you should test it. This perfume has been around for more than one generation, after all, not just for nothing).
I didn't buy it from this website. The fragrance base is simply divine. BUT! It doesn't stay on me AT ALL! I don't know how this can happen. Only on clothes can you barely catch the beautiful notes. It's incredibly disappointing. I will try it in different conditions.
