Before using the cup for the first time, sterilize it in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Start by thoroughly washing your hands with soap. Fold the cup. There are different folding methods, so try a few to find the one that works best for you. Insert the folded cup and allow it to expand inside the vagina. When correctly placed, the cup will open with a distinct suction or popping sound, indicating it is in the right position. If you are unsure, feel the base of the cup—it should be round or oval when properly inserted. If you notice any dents or folds, the cup has not fully opened. Gently grasp the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once it’s in place, give the stem a slight tug; if you feel resistance, the suction is established, and the cup is securely positioned!
