After insertion, the cup will open with a characteristic suction or popping sound, indicating that it has been correctly positioned. If in doubt, feel the base of the cup—it should be round or oval when properly inserted. If you feel dents or indentations, it means the cup has not fully expanded. Gently grab the base of the cup (not the stem) and try to rotate it to create a suction seal. Once in place, try slightly pulling on the stem; if you feel resistance, the suction seal is established, and the cup is successfully positioned!
