I have been using this powder for a while now and I am pleased with the results.

There is absolutely no pungent smell, but rather a certain aroma, which I don't think is coconut. The mixture itself is oily, which prevents hair from drying out and being damaged as much. However, this protection does not lighten the hair to ultra-light shades. Overall, it is a decent powder worth trying.
