Gres Cabochard Eau 2019 Eau de Parfum

I didn't buy it here, but I have some emotions about it. The new version didn't impress me. It has a green-floral light-chypre scent, which sounds quite watercolor-like and not binding to anything. In the new version, there are more floral notes and green notes, while the leather and tobacco notes, which successfully complemented the predecessor and gave it a unique pleasure, have been removed. Well, at least the moss is still there. The new version is purely a feminine fragrance, while the old release could be positioned as a true unisex. I can't say that the new Cabochar is bad, no, it's just that the old version in the brick-shaped bottle is significantly richer, more complex, and more convincing.

My beloved scent, Cabochard. Despite having had the perfume years ago and now using the eau de toilette, they have remained the same. Those familiar with Cabochard need no explanation. It is my love, my scent with a history, my memory. Thank you, Makeup. No time machine is needed, just a whiff of the fragrance and closing of the eyes. Miracles happen.

I love perfumes, and this one has an amazing scent. Before buying it, you should test it out because perfumes choose their owners themselves. These fragrances react and sound differently depending on the weather and more importantly, they seem alive, reflecting your mood and changing with you. Thank you, Maikap, for this wonderful gift.

Of course, it is not worth getting the Cabochar without testing it beforehand. It is a deep, rich chypre fragrance of the old school and a perfect example of perfumes in which the pyramid and notes gradually unfold, changing the scent's tone by 180 degrees from top notes to the base. This is for connoisseurs and those who know how to wear bitter chypres. I adore it!

Describing chypre fragrances is a thankless task. For us enthusiasts, these sharp and delicate yet impactful scents are the alchemy of perfumery art. On the other hand, those who read enthusiastic reviews eagerly desire to experience the enchanting perfumes themselves... only to be disappointed, as not everyone can understand, or rather fall in love with, assertive chypre fragrances.

The new Cabochard reminded me of a more expensive perfume from the famous Roja Dove, Chypre Extraordinaire, which everyone wanted due to its exorbitant price but disliked for its cologne-like sound. As for me, I love all chypres, from Coty's creations to the cool and mossy Bandit by Robert Piguet, as well as Aromatics Elixir by Clinique and the beautiful Hungarian honeyed Diva together with Sisley's Eau du Soir... the list of chypres in my collection is huge and I hope it is endless ;)

It is an excellent mossy-floral cocktail with a beautiful classic sound of aldehydes. This perfume is definitely not suitable for enthusiasts of light floral-fruity and trendy sweet compositions.

Strong, loud, rugged, durable, and sleekly elegant.

A benchmark chypre. Very beautiful and feminine. Quite powerful, long-lasting, and with a good sillage. Age-wise, there are no restrictions, but it will suit a confident woman who knows how to handle attention. Regarding the composition, it is a mix of Femme by Rochas and Knowing by Estée Lauder. Floral fruitiness on a base of moss and leather. There is no tobacco, resin, or incense. It is highly recommended for lovers of complex and provocative fragrances.
