And Shalimar is a masterpiece, already almost 100 years old, reimagined and refined. Infinitely beautiful, contradictory, and prestigious.
I recommend starting with the EDP version, and if it seems heavy, move towards younger soufflés and illuminators. Intense versions are sweeter, Initials are more powdery. Colognes and EDTs are more vibrant. If it doesn't click at first, it simply means that the time has not come yet.

After reading reviews, I won't buy this perfume again.

The fragrance is definitely unique and requires testing before purchasing. I have been sniffing them for a month now. The perfume is not modern. Nowadays, all perfumes are lighter, floral, fruity, fresh, or sweet. So if you only have such perfumes, these are unlikely to appeal to you. Shalimar is different. It resembles nothing else. For me, it smells like a fur coat and a leather car interior. There is also a lot of incense. These perfumes are clearly not for young girls or for everyday wear. The scent is warm and sharp. Over time, it becomes sweeter and the sharpness fades. So, I will repeat myself, test it and only test it.

I find it very similar to Obsession Calvin Klein, the initial notes are identical, maybe it's just my perception.

I purchased this product in December 2020. It is absolutely not long-lasting! I had a similar experience with Guerlain L'Heure Bleue (I bought it here around 2018). To be fair, the same thing happened to me when I purchased Chanel No. 5 (not from here). I bought a tester and, honestly, convinced myself that the lack of longevity was due to it being a tester. At that time, I couldn't think of anything else. But now, as a long-time fan, admirer, and most importantly, a consumer of French perfumes (since the late 80s), I can say that I have suddenly experienced the same lack of longevity with many previously familiar and well-studied fragrances. I regularly come across negative reviews that reflect my own emotions regarding the lack of longevity. I believe it's not the store's fault, but rather changes in the fragrance formulas. However, the fact remains. So... I have put Shalimar in a distant corner, hoping that maybe a miracle will happen and it will improve???? For now, that's all I can hope for. My stars go to the lack of longevity!

A refined fragrance, I mainly apply it on my wrist. If you love Prada Iris from the first release in 2009, you should also enjoy Shalimar. After the initial sharp notes fade away, I can still detect a hint of cocoa powder, in addition to the powdery and incense tones.

This fragrance is very versatile and extraordinary. If we were to call it retro, it would be a non-standard retro that greatly surpassed its time. At first, it is indeed sharp - the citrus notes are too prickly and the cedar is in line with that. But you just need to wait a little - and there it is, revealing warm powdery notes - patchouli, vanilla, rose, sandalwood... all of it blending into the familiar scent of my mother's lipstick from my deep childhood. However, vetiver, leather, and frankincense prevent it from completely sinking into this powdery sweetness.
That's roughly how it settles on me. Cozy, spicy, and delicate. It envelops and doesn't let go for a very long time, although it's already close to the skin.
It is impossible to choose this perfume based on its notes or reviews. It is worth getting to know it personally.

I don't feel the rubber in it, from the very first notes IT is beautiful. I expected more trash from the reviews, but for me, it is even too feminine. In terms of direction, it resembles Juliette Has A Gun Citizen Queen.

My first impression of the perfume was, oh my god, what is this, did I make a mistake in choosing the scent? But no, it can't be, it's the legendary Shalimar by Guerlain! For me, the scent starts too sharply, brightly, and forcefully, with some unclear "rubber notes" coming out, but over time it unfolds incredibly beautifully on my skin. The fragrance is dense, rich, resinous, definitely not for everyone, the main thing is not to overdo it with this perfume, 1-2 sprays will be more than enough. The longevity of the scent is simply "killer", I applied it to the inside of my elbow in the morning, and now, as I write this comment, it's almost 11 PM and a subtle Shalimar fragrance wafts from me. As for the authenticity of the perfume, there is no doubt, everything is done and packaged qualitatively, I checked the batch code, the production date is February 2017.
