Is the shade 6 Dark Blonde 50 ml the Majirel Cool Cover?
Hello, ladies.
I want to update my review from December 9, 2023.
I decided not to give up after all and looked at many online resources regarding coloring for gray, coarse hair. I understand that a quality dye should cover gray hair, but there are professional nuances and diluting 1:1.5 with 6% developer doesn't always work.
I discovered for myself:
- Mordonsage for preparing my coarse hair with stubborn gray strands (pre-bleaching the hair). In my specific case, I used L'Oreal 3.75% developer for 20 minutes (10 minutes on the roots + 10 minutes on the length, covered with plastic wrap and slightly heated with a hairdryer).
- Pre-pigmentation to fill the bleached gray hair with a dense, pure pigment (6.3 warm base tone diluted with warm water in a 1:1 ratio for 20-25 minutes under plastic wrap, I didn't rinse the developer after bleaching, and I blow-dried it a little).
- Coloring with tone 6.35 + 3.75% developer in a 1:1 ratio for the entire length of the hair over the 6.3 tone used for pre-pigmentation, leaving it on for 25+ minutes (at this point, you need to assess your own hair).
In the photo, you can see the result: the gray hair and bleached strands are completely covered, and the color is even. But I wanted it to be even lighter.
For future reference, I will follow the advice of colorists and choose a base tone for pre-pigmentation that is 1 shade lighter than the desired end result, so 7.0 for pre-pigmentation and 6.35 for coloring.
I can recommend to all girls who have the problem of uncolored gray roots, "root coloring," glassy gray strands, or uneven color - learn the methods recommended by professionals, watch tutorials on YouTube, and experiment with your own hair. Make sure to write down or remember the entire process step by step to successfully replicate it next time.
I'm attaching a photo.
But my experiment is not yet complete. :)
I also have a request for Makeup: hair dye is an important thing, sensitive to the stable availability of the full palette. The last time I ordered from another city because it wasn't available here. Please keep at least a few in stock in Ukraine, so that the necessary colors (especially basic shades 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) don't "run out."
This hair dye is excellent; it doesn't dry out the hair. I use shades 8.0, 8.1, 8.31, and 8.13, which are all shades of brunette.
Everything is good, the paint is excellent, I have been using it for many years, and it was delivered on time.
This is a hair dye for girls with no experience.)) I don't know what's wrong with me or my hair. Before this, I used to dye my hair with L'Oréal excellence 5.15 for about 10 years - everything was fine, my hair was dark chestnut, with about 50% gray hair, roots for 20-25 minutes, length for 5-10 minutes. This time, I used 4.8+5.8 and 6% developer. Even with a 1:1.5 ratio, the gray hair barely covered, it looked like root coloring. Today, I tried dyeing as the girls recommended, with a 1:1 ratio, it covered the gray hair slightly, but it's still visible in the light. ( I sincerely believe that a certified specialist in a salon can work wonders with this dye, but think three times before using it at home. I'm deducting stars because my hands are not skilled enough, but even following the instructions, the dye didn't work well on gray hair. I'll have to go back to the mass market products because getting a worse result at triple the price is not a good option.
2 weeks later and didn’t receive my order although I called several times and they told me it's with the delivery already. Seems the delivery lost its way
The paint worked perfectly for me, I have been using it for many years and I am not disappointed. However, the price keeps rising constantly and it is currently very high for this volume.
The quality of the paint is good. I didn't immediately notice that it was only 50ml, so for those with long hair, it might not be enough. I chose shade 5.52, but it turned out to have a red tint instead of a chestnut color. My roots ended up being more red than brown. For those, like me, who are not familiar with numbers, take note. However, the paint itself is great.
The paint is of very high quality. I compare my experience with Matrix and Farmavita, which are also good, but Majirel 4.0 has the perfect dark chocolate shade, with no red or ginger undertones... It is an even and expensive shade, and it covers gray hair wonderfully. The 50ml volume was enough for my long bob. When washing off the dye, it feels like the hair is covered with something, even my usual shampoo (Loma) doesn't lather as well, even on the second try, but the hair remains elastic and smooth. I used it with the matching developer. I am thrilled.
The paint is of good quality. It nicely covered the gray hair. I am satisfied with the purchase. Thank you MAKEUP for the fast and quality service!
I bought paint in shades 8.0, 9.0, and 9.13. Everything is excellent. The quality is superb. Hair dyes well with 12% peroxide. They look healthy. I have been using this dye for 3 years. No complaints. Only positive reviews and thanks to the manufacturer. Delivery, as always, is great. Everything is superb.
Product Review: Hair Dye 5.12
I decided to switch from being a brunette to a shade that is two tones lighter. Unfortunately, the outcome was a reddish color, which I was trying to avoid. Moreover, after dyeing my hair, it lacked the desired shine that can be achieved with the L'Oreal Preference hair dye. The results were disappointing and did not meet my expectations.
I really like this paint. I have been using it for several years now.
I really liked the hair dye, and after the first coloring, my impression was "Wow!". I bought shade 4 and mixed it with L'Oreal 6% developer in a 1:1 ratio (as indicated in the instructions on the website for covering gray hair). In the future, I will add a review about how quickly the color fades. Here's why I liked the dye so much:
1) The color is very nice and natural, even though it's just shade 4.
2) The dye was thick enough with a 1:1 ratio, making it easy to apply (I'm not a professional, I dye my hair at home), and it didn't drip.
3) It doesn't have a strong odor (even though it's an ammonia-based dye).
4) It doesn't stain my skin (with other brands, I've had instances where my ears and scalp were also colored).
5) Immediately after coloring, my hair feels soft and not overly dry.
Before purchasing, I read reviews mainly about light shades. For those who are interested, shade 4 in this dye is truly appropriate - a dark brown color (without a red undertone, and not too black).
Good paint! My hair was severely damaged but after using it, my hair looked great. The shade 7/11 is fabulous and looks amazing on healthy hair. It doesn't wash out on healthy hair, but on damaged hair without pre-pigmentation, it won't hold on.
I ordered it with delivery from the EU and it arrived in 10 days. The color is rich and very beautiful, but there is one downside... The hair feels as if it has undergone a botox or keratin treatment, as if the conditioner was not rinsed properly. Throughout the day, it becomes greasy along the length and I have to wash my hair every day. I don't know how long this effect will last, after the third wash the problem decreased but did not go away completely.
I love this hair dye, I'm currently using shade 5.8. It gives me a beautiful chestnut color with a warm undertone. My hair shines and this color looks absolutely stunning in the sunlight. I am very satisfied.
I have been using this paint for a long time. It is a solid four.
I have been using this paint for many years, and I know why not everyone likes it. Try mixing the developer and paint in a 1:1 ratio, instead of 1:1.5 as instructed. I guarantee excellent results. The color is much more vibrant. For gray hair, mix the base colors with the primary one.
I am responding to Oksana's question from 19.02.22 about the developer for this dye.
I purchased the developer from the same brand, a 6% 1-liter bottle, with the expectation that I would use it up over the course of a year (as it has a shelf life after opening). It worked well for the first six months, but the past three months have been worse. The dye started to wash out quickly, about 4-5 times. I haven't tried any other options. I plan to buy a new one, it's just a shame that it only comes in a liter size.
Good paint. The color is very natural, rated 9.0. Hair feels soft and shiny after dyeing.
I have already written a review about the first hair dye, and now I am writing about the second one again. The positives are that the color looks natural and my hair shines. The negatives are that I had to dilute the dye with 1/1.5 of a 6% developer from L'Oreal because it was very thick, which resulted in a lot of product being used. Another downside is that the color did not turn out to be a true blonde at all, especially when compared to the blonde shades 7.0 and 9.0. The color was far from being similar to blonde, as shown in the attached photo.
The paint is excellent! Thanks to Mayka for the choice, although the paint came from Europe for about a week, but I was warned about it, so I have no complaints. Just keep in mind that it may take longer to set when you close it! I took 9.21 with 9% for a 2 cm root regrowth, my base is a 5-6 tone, and the rest are lightened roots at level 11-12, but they already had a yellowish tint. Before this, I dyed my hair with Inebrya 12/22 because I got tired of the yellow color. After washing out the dye, I wanted to go a little darker. Based on the reviews of the girls here, I was choosing between 10.21 and 9.21, but in the end, I made the right choice with the shade! I want to note that before coloring with L'Oréal Majirel, I did a decoupage on the roots for 15 minutes, and then for 5 minutes on the entire length to clean the canvas from the previous dye so that the color would lay more evenly (I did the decoupage on the medium length in a ratio of 1:3, which means 30g of dry lightening powder with Prifistal + 90ml of 3% developer, I also buy them here on makeup). I did everything from memory from coloristic lessons, as I used to study to be a hairdresser, so maybe I didn't do it completely right! But I am satisfied with the result and the quality of my hair! In the future, I plan to only dye the regrowth with L'Oréal dye after 3-4 weeks without pre-lightening with powder! One tube of dye was enough for one coloring - the first half of the tube (25ml) with 37.5 Oxy 9% to dye the roots from the top and for 5 cm in length, and the next 25ml with 37.5 Oxy 6% was enough for the rest of the length! Although it would probably be better to use 3% so that the color would lay more densely on the already white/yellow length of the hair! And maybe it wouldn't wash out as quickly! But now I will wait to see how quickly it fades and what the color will look like after 3 weeks!
Great paint.
At 10:21, a yellowish shade appeared, transitioning to 9.21, and it turned out perfectly. It ended up slightly darker, creating a smooth transition.
The paint is good, but it is important to apply it correctly.
The paint is excellent, the store's service is top-notch, and everything was done very quickly!
The hair dye is good, it leaves the hair soft. However, there is one issue with it. The color that resulted from mixing shade 7 (blonde) and 8.31 (light golden-ash blonde) is a combination of natural brown roots and light ends. In reality, it appears as a dark blonde shade with a hint of red on the roots. It was supposed to be lighter than blonde. Next time, I will choose a shade that is lighter.
I have been using this hair dye for two years now and I am very satisfied. Previously, coloring my hair was very problematic for me as I would constantly experience burns. Now, it has become a pleasant procedure for me. My hair is soft and the color is even after dyeing.
Thank you to Makeup for the fast delivery.
"This hair dye is excellent, especially for covering gray hair. I only use this one. It doesn't damage hair, doesn't irritate the scalp, and adds shine. Fantastic! I highly recommend it!"
The quality is good. It covers the grays well.
Great paint! And as always, the delivery was fast! I highly recommend it.
The paint is amazing, I highly recommend it. The delivery was fast. Thank you, MAKEUP.
Quality is good, and my hair is still in good condition. However, the color turned out unexpectedly bright (this is not a negative aspect, BUT THE SHADE SHOWN HERE IN THE PICTURE - it is a completely different pink - 26, Amber bronze).
Minus 2 stars for the smell. I cried while I was applying it, it's impossible to breathe, the pungent smell of ammonia hasn't faded for a day. Glori's, which costs 30 hryvnias, smells much more pleasant.
I chose shade 10.12 for toning previously lightened blonde hair. Here is the result in the photo. The quality of the hair is superb.
I ordered the paint No. 3 in the cherry packaging, but it arrived in a grey one. It doesn't cover gray hair as well and it fades quickly when washed. I am disappointed and will not order it again! Also, the price on the website is now lower than what I paid.
The quality is excellent! The hair looks great after using L'Oréal Majirel hair dye. I highly recommend it!
The quality of L'Oréal Majirel hair dye is excellent, and it leaves the hair looking wonderful. When washing, it fades moderately.
I prefer the new format even more! It's my favorite! As a blonde for over 10 years, I have tried many things, but this one is the most gentle and also works well at the roots. Thank you, Makeupchik, for the gift, it's very nice.
It works well for tinting, but it is not suitable for lightening roots.
I have been using this hair dye for several years, both at the salon and at home to touch up my roots. The first week after coloring, the results were excellent, but then the color started to fade. I thought it was just a characteristic of my hair. So I switched to a different dye, and while the color was more stable, my hair became dry. About a month ago, I decided to go back to Majimel 6.23. I colored my hair with a 6% developer, and at first, I was really happy with the outcome. However, after two weeks, my light brown roots became reddish again, even though I am naturally brunette. Then there was a dark stripe, followed by patchy color. Overall, this was the last time I used this dye.
I ordered paint #3 and I really liked it! I will definitely be getting more! The color is very beautiful and in the sunlight, my hair doesn't look dark, but rather chocolatey! It does a great job covering gray hairs.
This paint is excellent. I have been using it for many years.
This is the worst hair dye I have ever tried. I have used different brands like Palette, Vellaton, and Excellence before. The last one I used was Color Touch. But this time, it was a disaster. My hair felt like a sponge, completely dried out. And this happened even though I used a 6% developer. I left it on for 20 minutes. It darkened my hair by at least two shades. The only positive thing is that it covered my gray hair. However, my hair is now completely damaged.
I bought this for my spouse. It covers the gray hair well and lasts for a long time. It's a good product!
Today was the first time I used hair dye number 3. I mixed it with the developer according to the instructions. I left it on for about 40 minutes. The color turned out amazing, it covered my gray hair perfectly! Let's see how long it will last. I toned the lightened ends with the Collistar mask. I highly recommend both products and the MakeUP store. Thank you!
For gray hair, this hair dye is excellent. I have been using it for years and haven't found a better one at this price. I highly recommend it, especially for those with over 50% gray hair.
The paint is absolutely fantastic! I chose the color 10.21, and it doesn't dry out my hair. I am very satisfied with it! It's now my favorite!
"It covers grey hair. In my opinion, it is better than Estel."
This is an excellent paint! The color range is absolutely stunning!
This is an excellent, high-quality hair dye. I have been using it for many years, specifically the 5.0 shade. It provides a natural hair color, without drying out the hair. It gives a lively and healthy shine.
After reading reviews, I purchased the shade 10.21 and used it with a 9% developer. I have previously used INOA, Vela, and Revlon, but this color and dye are simply wonderful. It gives a beautiful light shade without any yellow or ashy tones. The lightened beige result is very attractive. By the way, it dyes much better than Revlonnissimo 1002 (with a 9% developer) and better than Vela 10.61 (with a 9% developer). I hope my review will be helpful for other blondes like me who are constantly searching for their perfect hair dye.
I chose color 8.0, but it turned out to be a mediocre russet shade. It looks fairly natural, with a slight brown undertone, but it tends to make my hair look more reddish. However, it dries out my hair and makes it stick out like straw! As for its lasting power, I will have to wait and see. Considering its price, I expected better. There are better options available at a lower price.
The hair dye is nothing special; the hair becomes incredibly dry, brittle, and lifeless after coloring. I chose shade 8.12, but the color did not meet my expectations, just like the dye itself. Now I have to treat my hair with masks and oils. There were a few gray hairs, but even after leaving the dye on for 30 minutes or an hour, it didn't cover them.
The paint is simply incomparable! I chose shade 8.34. If you want a perfect golden red, I recommend this shade. It's my first time using it and I'm not disappointed. My hair was a little dry at the ends after using Estel dye. But when I colored it with this dye, even during the washing process, my hair became shiny, soft, and manageable without any additional products, balms, or masks. It's better than before dyeing. I'm ecstatic. The color is even, there's no difference between the roots and the main strands at all. I will only buy this dye. There's a lot of tube and developer, more than necessary for one time. The makeup is always on point, everything is according to plan. I recommend it to everyone!
I really like this hair dye - it doesn't damage my hair and it colors the roots well. I purchased three shades: 9.23, 9.13 - which turn out like in the photo (with a 6% developer), and the last one I tried was 10.21 - a very beautiful shade. I also used a 6% developer for this one because I didn't want a strong blonde. The result is a natural light brown with a beautiful undertone. I like that it doesn't leave any yellow tones on the roots and it colors evenly.
The paint is very good, better than any I have bought before. I bought two shades of the same brand's developer at 9%, and it really lightened by 3 tones. I will continue to use this paint. The website's performance is excellent, and the staff is very polite and helpful. I am satisfied with everything and thank you separately for the gift, it was very pleasant. Can you please tell me if I can continue using the 9% developer?
I followed the instructed time, but it did not completely cover my gray hair. My hair color is light brown, and I used shade 8.0. Unfortunately, the gray hair is still visible throughout my head.
I decided to try this paint, choosing the color solely based on the number. And... I guessed right!! It doesn't smell as strong as non-professional Loreal paints. It doesn't run and completely covered my gray hair (!) with a stunning color. I'll see how it holds up, but for now, I'm extremely satisfied. I didn't expect such amazing results.
This product does an excellent job of covering my gray hair, about 80% of it. I only purchase this product.
I used Crashus 6, but after a year, the color became darker. Now I will switch to using 7. The price and delivery were excellent. Thank you. By the way, I have a question about the 7 tinting spray or any toning balms (to maintain the color). Has anyone tried them? Also, the Majirel palette is darker than regular paint palettes.
The paint is excellent. I chose shade 8.2, which results in a slightly cool, pearly-ashy undertone. The color looks classy and makes my hair shine. I used it with a 6% developer that wasn't the recommended one (I believe it would be even better with the recommended one). The color lasts a long time and doesn't damage the hair, especially if you add a little bit of oil.
