Part your hair as you normally would, either along the side or down the middle. Take two sections of hair from each side of your head, about two fingers wide each. Gently twist these sections together at the back of your head where they meet. Holding the twisted sections between your thumb and index finger, use your other hand to gently open the hairpin horizontally. Carefully insert the hairpin upwards against your scalp. Always move the pin in the opposite direction of the twist to secure it. Make sure to insert the hairpin using only one finger.
