The dominant role in the olfactory pyramid of the Radical Rose composition is played by the delicate May rose, in honor of which Aurélien Guichard named the fragrance. The perfumer accentuated the rich floral sound with the spiciness of Jamaican pepper and saffron, while in the trail he placed earthy patchouli and a subdued oriental note of labdanum.
