This product is supposed to provide softening, but it is very thin and therefore not very economical. I left it on for a full 5 minutes to experience its maximum effect, but the softening was truly minimal and I didn't notice any difference in my curls. My hair didn't feel stiff, but it was as if I had forgotten to use conditioner after shampooing. (I apply shampoo to the roots, then conditioner twice on the ends, and finally apply conditioner separately.) The scent reminds me of cheap candy, so I do not recommend it. (I have natural, thin, and wavy hair.) The softening effect is rated at 3 out of 10, and I give it 2 stars for the ingredients.
