Girls, I need help. I bought this product and used it about 3 times, but something strange and unpleasant started happening. After using this thing, my face starts burning whenever I apply it. On the 4th or 5th day after using it, my skin started peeling like a lizard's. I haven't used it for about a week now, but even if I don't apply anything (cream, lotion, toner, even foundation), it still burns. What should I do? Should I wait for it to go away on its own? And will it go away?
I can say this: for the first time in 20 years, I can skip wearing foundation. I am amazed by the results. I have combination skin, aged 35+, and I started using it with a 1% concentration. Next time, I will start with 0.5%. I use it once a week because it works on my skin like a professional chemical peel from a cosmetologist. On the 3rd or 4th day, my skin starts to peel, and there are some localized redness. However, using a nourishing cream solves the problem, and voila! By the 7th day, my skin looks incredible, and it keeps getting better every week! I highly recommend it! They say that retinol and peptides are the proven anti-aging ingredients for a reason.
This serum is great, I have been using it for 2 months (it says it will show results after 2 months) and the effects are noticeable. My wrinkles have become smaller (I'm 35 years old). For my oily skin, the 1% light version works well - I will try the 2% and add peptides to the serum instead of the cream.
One day I went out in the sun with spf 15 and my face turned slightly red, so now I use spf 50.
The expiration date is short, but that's understandable because air and light can get in. I store it in the box and in the refrigerator.
I think if someone doesn't like this brand, it might be due to incompatibility with other cosmetics, and that's individual.
It simply sits on the shelf, providing no effect other than mild hydration. I don't know how it causes skin peeling or a burning sensation for some people.
This is the only thing that helped me with breakouts. To say that I am satisfied is an understatement. However, I started with 0.5% and then switched to 1%.
In the morning, it is important to cleanse well with a gentle cleanser, use a toner, and apply SPF30-50.
In the evening, I use the acid ANA (Kristina) (yes, they say that you can't combine them, but both the dermatologist and the cosmetologist gave me the green light).
Toner,
Retinol.
I don't cover it with anything since it's already oily.
If you're just starting to use it, here are my recommendations:
Start by applying it 2-3 times a week, then every night.
Endure the peeling (the skin gets used to it).
Be amazed by the results.
I used half of the jar with difficulty. This product is useless and ended up in the trash bin, causing a rash on my combination skin. It did not protect me from pigmentation despite its SPF 50. In short, it had no effect, only side effects like pigmentation and rashes. I used it at night.
Ladies, if you have acne, then this is exactly what you've been looking for. I couldn't get rid of acne for a long time. I tried peels (they were great, but then BOOM, acne again), I took pills for my intestines, I didn't eat sweets, flour, or dairy - it helped, but not completely.
Then, I finally decided to try skincare advice for acne. Yes, it will require some investment, but it's worth it!
Morning routine:
1. Regular cleansing foam
2. Niacinamide (serum)
3. SPF is a must, in both winter and summer
Evening routine:
1. Foam with acids (according to your skin type)
2. Retinol (for night use only!!!!)
3. Moisturizing cream
Less than a month has passed and there are no new breakouts. I'm healing the marks.
Don't reinvent the wheel when dermatologists have been studying this for years!!! Self-medication can be harmful to your health!!!
This product is really good. I don't like the smell, but for the amazing results it gives, I can tolerate it. I used it every other day and I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I am delighted with this serum. It is olive-based and I thought it would make my skin oily, but it doesn't. I apply it at night and wake up with perfectly smooth and hydrated skin. Even though I had problematic skin with acne.
I have been using it for about two weeks. The initial peeling quickly disappeared with a good moisturizing cream. I did not notice any worsening of my skin (which was promised at the beginning), but I definitely noticed improvements from the first use, and I am satisfied.
For those who are considering trying it for the first time and are currently reading the comments: take a look at the brand's products with lower retinol content to start with and gradually introduce it! It's not critical, of course, to start with this one, but there is a chance to minimize unpleasant side effects like peeling and redness. And don't forget about moisturizing and SPF.
I have been using it for about a week and it has had a quite intense reaction in the form of skin peeling. The first couple of days I thought we wouldn't get along, as large pimples appeared. But after a few days, my skin cleared up and the spots from previous inflammations lightened a bit. It hasn't had any effect on my pores yet. As for the downsides, it leaves a strong shine on combination skin, but when applied at night, it's not a problem. The consistency is also very runny, sometimes I have to "catch" the drops. That's why I apply it on my palms first and then spread it on my face.
The product is decent, but only suitable for cold weather. It doesn't work well with any of my creams, as it tends to roll and take a long time to absorb along the perimeter of my face, even if I apply just a tiny amount. There are much more effective products with retinol from Medik8 or Obagi, although they are more expensive, they are definitely more efficient. Another issue is that this is my second jar from this brand, and once again the dispenser is breaking. The bottle stops screwing on properly, and what to do next is unclear. My friend had the same experience.
I have thick skin that is used to acids and retinol. Before using this serum, I used the Life Flo cream with 1% retinol, and it was more effective on me. This serum has an oily texture but doesn't dry out or irritate the skin. The visible effects are that it seems to tighten and hydrate the skin. However, it doesn't have any visible effect on my uneven texture and wrinkles.
Poor absorption. If I apply cream afterwards, it becomes excessively greasy on my face, so I have to blot it with a tissue. I've been using it for less than a week, every day, and I haven't experienced any redness or peeling, which is surprising considering it contains retinol. This is my first time using a serum with retinol. I'll wait for results after 48 days of use, as it takes around that amount of time for the skin to renew itself after turning 30 (I'm 30 years old). That's why I'm giving it 4 stars.
This product is good. I bought it to treat breakouts, and after the first application, the inflammation disappeared. When I purchased it, I didn't know that there was a serum with a lower percentage of retinol. This one may even be too strong at the moment. My skin is still getting used to it.
This is a really great product.
It's important to remember that if you're just starting to use retinol, your skin will definitely peel. To begin with, it's best to use it only once a week.
It took a few months for my skin to adjust gradually. Now, my skin doesn't peel at all after applying it, and I really like the effect.
I use it all year round, except for the three summer months.
I am adding stars to my review.
Thank you, makeup, for working so well during these difficult times! The serum effectively evens out the complexion and smooths the skin. It works so well that all my female colleagues have ordered it. I highly recommend it!
This serum is great, my skin literally transforms after 3-4 uses. I am 32 years old, with oily and acne-prone skin, and deep lines on my forehead. I hadn't used any retinol products before, so I started using this serum every other day. On the second week of use, I experienced some peeling in the most sensitive areas, but it went away within two days. Now, my skin responds well to the serum and looks noticeably fresher. Breakouts hardly appear, my skin is less oily, and my pores have lightened. Fine lines have smoothed out after a month of use, and the deep lines on my forehead and laugh lines have become less noticeable. The results have definitely exceeded my expectations!
I started with 0.3 and now I'm using this one. I really like it! However, it should never be used by those planning to get pregnant, pregnant women, or nursing mothers.
