I had high hopes for Pikovaya Dama... after all, I wanted to experience the mystery of a beautiful opera, expecting theatrical mystique and other captivating unknowns. Perhaps I wanted to capture the Soviet spirits of "Pikovaya Dama," they were delightful in their unrestrained chypre aroma... But no, there is no chypre in this fragrance, instead, there is a dominant powdery presence, a luxurious blend of aldehydes with strong musk, sweet neroli, and dense incense with a classic iris root.
Somewhere in the distance, patchouli notes can faintly be heard, along with truly eastern sandalwood-vanilla accents.
The perfume is long-lasting and quite elegant, but... there are many fragrances like this. A worthy addition to a collection.
