Mattifying Sunscreen Gel for Oily Sensitive Skin SPF 50+ La Roche-Posay Anthelios Gel-Cream

I bought this cream 2 years ago and it was wonderful. I was very happy to finally find what I needed, as it mattified my skin well. However, this year's purchase was a disaster. The cream is greasy, so how can it possibly mattify the skin?! I apply mattifying powder on top, but it doesn't provide the desired effect. Moreover, the price is quite high. I could have bought a regular sunscreen with the same greasy effect. I am completely disappointed. I purchased it at the pharmacy.

It doesn't swear at all, even though I have oily skin. I wonder if its sun protection will become visible over time. I don't understand why they mention that it has a matte effect.

Clearly not suitable for oily skin, you apply it to your face and your face immediately becomes shiny like a pancake. It doesn't mattify at all, in fact, it makes your face incredibly greasy. It didn't work for me, so I'll be looking for another product.

I had the impression that I bought the same product a year ago in France. It was denser in consistency and left a powder-like effect (which I liked), and it was white. I ordered it again here, expecting the same, but the cream itself is yellow and leaves a satin finish instead of a matte one, although it seems to provide adequate protection. One advantage of the current formula is that it is odorless.

The cream is amazing! I have been using it for about two weeks now. It truly protects my face from the sun's rays, as I have confirmed this by being out in the sun every day during lunchtime. I am also pleased with the promised matte effect, even though the cream may initially feel greasy when applied. I have been using various LA Roche-Posay products for two years now and I am very satisfied! I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, this cream didn't work well for me. I have oily skin with occasional acne. I didn't notice any mattifying effect and the texture of the cream is quite heavy, which I can feel on my skin. Additionally, after using it actively for two weeks, it caused comedones for me, even though I wash it off immediately when I come back from the street with micellar water and foam cleanser.

Very powdery on the face. The cream gives the skin a white shade, regardless of the amount of product applied. Additionally, even the slightest accidental touch causes white clumps to fall off the face.
As for the positives: it is truly matte. However, if I had to choose between a shiny or white but matte face, I would choose the latter.

I have oily skin with hyperpigmentation - freckles. I always suffered during spring and summer because my freckles would become even more pronounced and redder. The pharmacy recommended this product to me. I must say, I noticed that my freckles have lightened and there are no new ones appearing, which is very pleasing.
I apply it in the morning with a thick layer under my makeup. After a couple of hours, a greasy shine does appear, but I simply powder my face. I have tried various Korean sunscreens, but none of them suited me well. I understood that I needed it, but I constantly felt discomfort. This is the FIRST sunscreen that I truly enjoy using. It does not clog my pores on my problematic skin. It does not leave any unpleasant stickiness or greasy shine. From now on, I will only buy this one.

The cream is far from perfect, but it does protect from the sun. However, I will not be buying it again.

I give it 3 stars only because the cream really protects from the sun: it has been tested under the burning sun of the Emirates and in hot conditions in the city. Moreover, its effectiveness remained high even when there was no opportunity to reapply it on the face.

I have already tried the product. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone. The consistency of the product is not thick, so it is easy to apply (like a regular face cream). I don't know why there are so many comments about it being difficult to apply and remove on the skin! It is scentless. There is a light mattifying effect, which is all I expected, as it is difficult for any specialized product to deal with my T-zone... But I am primarily hoping for sun protection from this and relying on the quality of La Roche, the Effaclar series of which I love.

The finish is truly matte after a couple of minutes, and it doesn't feel heavy on the face (don't expect it to be like a serum or gel, especially for sun protection). I have normal skin, and it doesn't make me look shiny. There is no scent, I don't know why some people say it smells bad, I didn't notice any smell. It doesn't clog pores or cause blackheads, which is a problem I have with many other products. Now, onto the negatives - it was difficult for me to apply because it settles very quickly. You need to take the right amount and distribute it quickly while massaging. Even then, I had some white streaks on my face in certain areas. You can't apply it in two layers or reapply it because it starts to roll off. Makeup doesn't sit well on it, I tried different concealers with different application techniques - they all rolled off, not as much as some other creams but I couldn't even wear minimal makeup on top, only mineral powder. I haven't tried applying foundation because I don't use it, but I think it would be the same. The tinted version of this cream on my pale skin is dark orange. So overall, it's a comfortable sunscreen, but personally, it didn't work for me on a daily basis. I'll continue searching for my perfect option. However, if you're going to the beach without makeup or if you don't wear any, you can confidently use it as it provides good protection and feels comfortable.
