In my Shalimar toilet water, the scent of incense and wax is evident. It starts off strong and then gradually becomes softer, but it can be smelled all day long. The fragrance is very long-lasting. This time, I got the perfume version from ES, and it is extremely long-lasting, rich, and a precious elixir. It is a masterpiece that cannot be spoiled by time.
I used this creation throughout the cold seasons, from autumn to spring. It was brought from Germany, and there is not even a hint of forgery.
Considering that I love Guerlain for their "dresses," their tooth-cracking sweetness, longevity, and sillage, this fragrance did not appeal to me at all. No matter how much I tried to figure out what the catch was with this "luxurious" scent, I couldn't find anything. I understand that everyone has different tastes, so I will just share my own opinion.
The opening is killer! A million receptors explode in my nose from the initial notes, and tears well up in my eyes. No, I'm not just crying. It's like a rubber melting factory with a touch of frankincense. For the first few minutes, you need to hold your breath or better yet, step out onto the balcony and give yourself a tiny spritz; otherwise, your head will start pounding at that very moment.
I'm waiting for it to develop, but it never does! And the scent disappears as well. Absolutely nothing remains after about forty minutes. So basically, from the moment you apply it, you endure the stench, and after half an hour, it doesn't smell like anything at all. Great, the torture was short-lived. God forbid using this elixir in the summer, as it would knock out both yourself and those around you.
In conclusion: no development, no longevity, no sillage.
There's nothing more to write about. If someone finds pleasure in the scent of burning rubber for forty minutes, you are truly cool! As for me, I have stashed the bottle away and will only bring it out when mosquitoes come around. I hope someone finds my review useful.

Bergamot starts off with its power and breathtaking trail. There is so much of it that it seems as if there are no other notes in the perfume. It quickly fades into the base on me, and there... You can get lost. The signature Guerlain base is captivating. By the way, in the base, you can detect the same vanilla as in the aged classic Mon Guerlain (I have both, they are identical in the base). The longevity is average for such a "monster," but it suits me just fine. I apply no more than one spritz on my collarbone. The sillage is very pleasant. My husband, without knowing it's my new Shalimar, said it smells expensive and very sexy (I'm 31, he's 35 years old). I don't detect any grandma, grandpa, or other old trunks. Undoubtedly, lovers of Empress, Bright Crystal, and similar fragrances are unlikely to appreciate Shalimar, but if you hear it once and it appeals to you, then that's it... Any other perfume will always be compared to the greatness and power of this classic.
I bought it here, but it was still winter. It's a prestigious, expensive, and legendary fragrance, but the initial scent is very sharp! It's a must-try! Apply it at least an hour before going out, as the rubbery notes overpower the others. But when it fully develops, it's beautiful, in my opinion, with a prominent bitter vanilla note... First acquaintance with a legend. I thought for a long time about where to start and decided on the EDT. The first spray on the blotter - it seems like I hit the jackpot, hello there, tires.... After an hour, I decided to apply it to my wrist, it still managed to catch my attention even from the blotter. On the skin, it opens up completely differently. Yes, the infamous tires are present in some places, but in much smaller concentration and they don't repel me. Rather, they spark my interest, what's next?... And what's next is that in the eau de toilette, I hardly get any flowers or citrus notes, but instead, I get an oriental tale of sun-warmed sandalwood with a hint of vanilla and a touch of powder. In short, love happened on the second try, or maybe the first if we don't count the blotter. I don't recommend trying to understand this perfume from paper, the impressions are very different. As for longevity, it lasts all day on the skin and remains noticeable on clothes for several days. The store's service, as always, is top-notch :)

Hello! I received the water and was quite disappointed as it only smells like incense, similar to aroma sticks. The scent is completely different from what I expected.
I wonder why this perfume has such a truncated pyramid shape. I can clearly smell leather, suede, a lot of citrus, especially in the top notes, and in the base, I detect balsamic and vanilla... I also smell incense. But why aren't these notes mentioned in the pyramid? In the fragrance pyramid, all these notes are listed)) Overall, this perfume is for special occasions, which I haven't come across yet. I can't bring myself to wear it with a down jacket and sneakers, even if they are the most expensive ones. I am waiting for the right moment and in the meantime, I sniff this elixir from the bottle.
