Nasomatto Black Afgano Perfume

The perfume is luxurious. My husband is thrilled with it. It lasts for a long time. It has different layers of fragrance that unfold beautifully. Even after washing, the clothes still smell amazing.

I bought this product for myself and I enjoy using it. I consider the scent to be more feminine. Why? Because sometimes I hear the question "what is that great smell?". Also, because as an experiment, I tried it on almost all of my male acquaintances. No, boys, this is not your fragrance. Maybe it suits Italians well, or someone else... After all, it's a different climate, a different body chemistry. On our men, it becomes intrusive and stuffy, whether it's one spray or half a spray. Definitely needs to be tested. Just not from street vendors (due to the abundance of fake products), but the original version is a must. Special thanks and respect to Makeup for their original perfumes. Out of the dozen bottles I have purchased here, there hasn't been a single flaw.

There's something addictive about it. I really liked it, but after about 8 hours, its powerful intense scent started to become annoying, and after 12 hours, I had to wash it off because it was really bothering me. I think if you're going to be outside all day, then yes, but definitely not for the office or work indoors. It's better to test it first before blindly buying it.

This fragrance is absolutely incredible. It is worth every penny. I bought it for my husband, but when I smelled it, now I want it for myself too. At first, it seems sweet and pleasant. And then a note of resinous wood emerges. It's a very cool fragrance.

I have been using this fragrance for three years and I cannot find a better scent for myself. And I am not looking for one. These perfumes convey mood and sensuality, they captivate and attract as if they entice you and you get lost in admiration. They are sexy and intoxicating. They are not for everyone, only for the chosen ones, with a sense of free spirit and a liberated personality, passionate and daring by nature.

I tried a sample (not from here). What can I say - it's just not for me! The scent is truly awful. Thick, heavy... It smells like some kind of medicine, really reminds me of a forbidden substance (opium, hashish) I don't know... I have no experience, but for some reason, it gives me the impression of drug use :))) The 2 ml sample will just stay on the shelf. I recently decided to spray it on my wrist, thinking maybe I'll give it a try! But no, I couldn't even wash it off. After it started suffocating me, I managed to spray on some Aventus ::) That's where the divinity is! And then I could go to sleep.

I don't know, maybe the sample was bad, but I don't think so. I simply don't understand how it can appeal to many people! Very suffocating :((

I visited the official Nasomatto stand in a shopping center. The consultant applied two fragrances, Black Afgano and Fantomas, to blotter cards. I was not familiar with them before, and as is often the case in the niche fragrance world, it takes more than one encounter to fully understand its facets. I kept the blotter cards and brought them home. It didn't take long for Black Afgano to fill the entire room with an amazing scent. Seriously, I was very surprised that such a small piece of paper could produce such a strong fragrance. The next day, I went back to the stand and applied it to my skin. I could smell it all evening, night, and morning. It barely faded even after taking a shower. I decided that this perfume must be a part of my collection. However, I encountered a problem. The prices were different everywhere. It was 4k in one store and 2.5k here. The perfumes I have purchased here are definitely original, and I have bought quite a few. I remember a couple of times when I had issues with longevity in luxury fragrances. However, I attributed it to batch variations, marketing tricks with testers, and so on. This shouldn't happen in the niche fragrance world, especially with the powerful Black Afgano. I received the package and let it settle from the journey until evening. And then, disappointment struck... It felt like it was diluted by about 40%. It disappeared from my skin within an hour. Out of curiosity, I took a fragrance-free part of the same blotter card and applied it there. In the morning, there was no trace of it. On the other hand, it lasted for over a week on the original blotter card, with a slight base note remaining. How is this possible? All the signs of authenticity are present. Wooden cap, clear and even text, liquid color, spray nozzle color, sticker on the back of the box, batch number on the bottle bottom. But it seems like the contents were swapped. How do you, makeup, do this? Do you intentionally trade with unsold defective batches, luring customers with low prices? The same thing happened with my previous orders of Creed Aventus and Prada L'Homme. It's profitable, right? I can't return them because, according to the law, the product is not eligible for return, and the customer service representatives respond with generic phrases about differences in scent perception and proper techniques for opening the air-spray cap... To those who are planning to place an order, honestly, I don't recommend buying from here. It's better to pay more but purchase offline. Test it beforehand.

PS I waited for the shipment for about a week, and they apparently included a denture cream miniature as a bonus gift. Seriously? The buyer's age is indicated in the profile. This is one of those cases where it's better not to include anything as a gift. It feels more like mockery.

I am a young girl. But this scent is one of my favorites, one of the most beloved. It envelops, it gives strength and confidence, it makes me straighten my back and spread my wings (although they're not exactly angelic:). I spray just one spritz on my hair and I walk around all day with a fabulous magical trail)))). I always say that this fragrance is the embodiment of the perfect man in a bottle. Long-lasting, strong, complete, it's not for everyone, but you will notice it immediately and you won't be indifferent. This fragrance is character, it's individuality. Simply love.

For me, this fragrance was a complete disappointment. And it's not because I didn't like it, but because it didn't impress me at all. Based on numerous reviews on different websites and forums, I concluded that this fragrance can either make you fall in love with it or make you hate it, but it definitely won't leave anyone indifferent. Some people dedicated poetic odes to Afghan, comparing it to the saddle of a sweaty horse or the damp hold of a ship storing tobacco. By the way, the negative reviews were just as eloquent.

You can imagine my disappointment when, after applying it, I smelled a typical men's cologne, you know, like the one on a big guy in a suit who's around 50 years old. It was some kind of collective image, but there was nothing individual or interesting about it. I've heard it a thousand times before. And don't even get me started on the cannabis note. I know well how it smells when it's green, dried, or burning, and I didn't sense it in any form here.

I'm not an expert in perfumery, but I can usually break down fragrances into different notes. However, with Afghan, it was all very flat (I'm 100% sure about the originality of this perfume). I also understand that people can perceive the same fragrance differently, and I believe that it truly could have impressed someone. But I would like my review to serve as a warning for those considering purchasing it, that maybe the same thing could happen to you as it did to me, or rather, nothing at all. Sometimes that happens, not everyone is left with an unimaginable impression of this fragrance.

P.S. I also read that Afghan was the coolest fragrance until 2014, but then it was reformulated and lost some notes. After 2017, it was reformulated again and completely lost its former glory. Perhaps this is also the case.

Recently, I finally received the long-awaited Afghan fragrance! Although it may sound foolish, I ordered it blindly based on the reviews of perfume bloggers. The delivery was made from a warehouse in the EU and arrived on time as indicated in the estimated delivery date. It is very long-lasting, as two sprays on my skin lasted the whole day. I came home from work and still feel this scent on myself.

Regarding the fragrance itself, I had mixed feelings at first. After applying it, personally, it reminded me of a faint, sour smell of decay from a distance, which confused me. However, the longer it stayed on me, the better it unfolded, pleasantly surprising me. I couldn't detect any hint of hemp in it, no matter how much I wanted to. In my opinion, the most enjoyable aspect of the Afghan fragrance is in the middle of the pyramid, the so-called "heart notes." It is unlike any perfume I have ever had before. I came to the conclusion that I like it, but I wouldn't choose it as my only fragrance for everyday use.

My first encounter with this fragrance left me exhilarated. I had never experienced such a scent before. It was something completely new to me. The longevity of the perfume made me ponder about this fragrance for two weeks. I was simply crazy about it. I had to buy it. No regrets! I derive great pleasure from it.

This fragrance has deeply impressed me. Undoubtedly, the creator of this scent, Alessandro Gualtieri, is one of the perfumery geniuses. I took a risk and purchased it without testing it beforehand, based on the reviews, and I made the right choice. It is one of the rare cases where all the notes mentioned in the description are present, although they may unfold gradually and not all at once.

A Magical Scent! It has the aroma of coffee, smokiness, and a hint of tobacco! Sometimes it feels like pipe tobacco, occasionally raw like a cigarette. It always unfolds in different ways! A warm and extravagant bitterness. I have never smoked grass, only smelled it, but I can imagine that it might be present in there.

I do not recommend this product. The bottle and cap are original, but the fragrance itself is diluted. It only lasts for a maximum of 2 hours. I am disappointed.

1. Regarding the authenticity of this perfume, I can confirm that it is 100% original. I have compared it to a purchase of Black Afgano in Rome. I went through every detail to ensure its authenticity, including the packaging, box, glass bottle, and the cap (the cap of each Black Afgano is made of charred wood and they are all different, while counterfeit ones have perfectly symmetrical caps that smell like paint or plastic). Also, the color of the liquid in the bottle is closer to violet when seen under light (but this is the case with two of my bottles). So, I am completely certain that it is original.

2. As for the scent, just two sprays are enough. The fragrance is very complex and it takes time to fully understand it. In the first hour, it smells like freshly cut wood soaked in oils and resins, sprinkled with herbs (and I'm not talking about grass), and it even has a slightly sweet and overpowering scent. Then, it transitions into a mix of smoke and burnt wood, combined with freshly mowed grass. That's how I would describe it. The fragrance needs to be worn for about a week to fully appreciate it. Personally, I started liking it a lot on the third day. This scent is not for everyday use. For me, it is perfect for going out in public on cold autumn or winter evenings. For everyday wear, I prefer Prada l'homme (a modern classic) and Tom Ford Oud Wood (my favorite fragrance).

3. Longevity-wise, it is very long-lasting on clothes (until it goes through the washing machine). Even when I think there is no scent left, people can still smell it.

P.S. Please do not judge the authenticity of a perfume solely based on its longevity. This is highly subjective. Many "experts" only evaluate perfumes based on this criterion. Wishing everyone kindness and complimentary fragrances.

Everyone has their own opinions, ranging from absolute delight to complete disappointment or even rejection upon encountering Black Afgano. I have already gone through ten bottles, and each one has a different scent. I particularly love the early releases of the Afghan fragrances as they have a more mossy and chypre-like quality.

For enthusiasts of leather fragrances, Black Afgano will be a fantastic find. However, it should not be confused with the leather-gourmand perfumes from Tom Ford, which are more mainstream and appealing to everyone. On the other hand, this perfume, in the style of Nasomatto, will not necessarily evoke admiration from those around you. Although perfumes are generally purchased for oneself, somehow everyone expects to impress others with their choice.

To me, Black Afgano smells like a Turkish leather saddle with distinct notes of hashish and a hint of frankincense. However, it is not typically smoky and sweet, but rather dry and bitter with a resinous overtone. The fragrance has a background of burnt wood and withered tobacco leaves, not the ready-made tobacco, but specifically during the fermentation process. I also detect the aroma of heavily roasted Arabic coffee beans, a sour milk accord, and a touch of freshly mowed meadow grass, not just any grass, but a variety of different types.

Another perfume that bears a strong resemblance to Black Afgano is Cuir from Carner Barcelona, but it is even more intense and has a very long-lasting trail. This comparison might be useful to someone.

The fragrance is definitely interesting, long-lasting, with a lingering scent. One spray is enough! But it is definitely not suitable for summer, it is too intense.

I was expecting more. Either the new version is not the same as the original, or it's no longer fashionable to make strong and long-lasting perfumes (they respect personal space). Alessandro Gualtieri's creativity is evident in another one of his works - Boccanera (Orto Parisi). The latest one is even better than Afghano, in my opinion. From the same genre, I liked Black Oud by LM Parfums and Sehr Al Kalemat (Kalemat Black) by Arabian Oud more. But of course, everyone has different tastes. Yes, I think Afghano is more of a masculine scent than a feminine one.

A very unique fragrance. I agree with Olga that it's not for fans of "boring fresh scents." Imagine the cunning Mr. Montgomery Burns (from The Simpsons) disguised as a daring, young, attractive girl. The fragrance is exactly like that. You feel that something is off, but you're not sure what exactly. It's very intriguing.

Excellent perfume! People who know it understand that it cannot be compared to any other fragrance. Black Afgano has only one worthy competitor, Coquillete Herat!
